From the Founders
Years ago, our 27 month-old daughter, Jessica, was hospitalized due to a serious illness. Fear and anxiety were overcoming our precious little one and we felt an overwhelming helplessness in comforting her. We vividly remember seeing that fear, not only in her eyes but in the eyes of so many children on the pediatric ward that week. As parents, we had no tools or understanding of how to help our daughter through the many medical treatments, machines, doctors and nurses wearing masks and gowns. To our Jessica, they were all strangers coming into her room, day and night, in a place that was not home. Yes, she was surrounded by many people, but we knew she felt incredibly alone and frightened, as we did. Unfortunately, and with deep sorrow, Jessica passed.
Several years after Jessica’s passing, we had an idea to create something that would help children through tough times. Shortly thereafter, Armor Buddies™ was born.
Armor Buddies™ is a children’s book series and toy line designed to help children better understand themselves and their potential in this world. We, as parents and caregivers, can help our children feel safe and more secure when we ourselves have the tools that help us through our own fears and anxiety.
